Monday was a great day. In the morning, my host family and I drove to Colemborg, a city that has structures remaining since the 12th century; times have sure changed. We walked around and saw the old city walls, windmills, and the house of a famous explorer. After that we went for some cappuccino at a small cafĂ© next to the Rhine river. We crossed it twice by ferry to and from Colemborg. I met with the rest of the advanced team at Utrecht Centraal at 3pm. Good thing we were there when we were because soon David, Armando, Leo, Jonas, and Peppe showed up to the station because they had missed their bus out of Antwerp earlier that day with the rest of the cast. We all headed to Bilthoven and prepared the field hockey club for the cast arrival and host pickup. Everything went smoothly and I am pretty sure we set a new record for the first host family pickup at just over 18 minutes. Not too bad for 60+ students and their new families. Everyone seemed to be happy. I didn’t get home till late because the busses and trains were still running on the Sunday schedule.
