Today was your typical show day. In the morning we had setup at our venue at a local high school with an impressively large and well equipped auditorium. Lunch was again sandwiches but I couldn’t complain because as we all know; sandwiches are beautiful. We had in a guest speaker to start helping us with out New Orleans preparation. He talked about how he helped the victims of the hurricane Katrina using his resources as a hotel manager. He helped many people eventually resettle in the Dallas area. In the afternoon we had a “Show Me” session where cast members could try out for new parts in the show in front of the cast. We had our run through and eventually the performance. I took tickets at the door right before the show. Apparently someone had printed off 200 fake tickets. I only spotted about 8 or so though. I think the show went quite well and the audience that I talked to afterward seemed to think so too. We didn’t get everything packed into the trucks until after midnight. My host family said it was ok but they said that they really didn’t like being “blinded and deafened”; I guess its not really geared to their demographic though. I almost fell asleep in the van one the way back and I think I’m about to now again. They want to get us very early to leave to go to church for 6 am. I know I should probably go but I’ve not slept more than 4 hours in a night for over a week and I could probably use some catching up; not to mention laundry and packing. Its all Good™.
