Today I woke up to freshly dripped coffee and porridge with walnuts and brown sugar. It was all Good. My host mom lives near to another family that is hosting several people. We went and picked them up before heading to the international cultural center. In the morning we had a session on “Social Styles” there are four of them; Thinker, Doer, Speaker and Listener. You fill out a questionnaire that determines which characteristics are most prominent in you and you tally them up to see which one or ones you are. I scored highest in the Listener/Thinker categories. It was pretty neat, we were all given coloured star stickers for our name tags so that we would be aware of each others styles and how we could deal with problems in communication that could arise. This was followed by some CPR training and general health tips for on the road. Before lunch, some of the cast members decided to go for a swim in the lake nearby as the rest of us looked on in disbelief. Apparently the water, though warm, was gross looking. After lunch of Jambalaya and Red Beans and Rice, we headed to Southern University for a seminar on Black History by Dr. Ralph Lockett. Following this we went to the SU Museum of art.
In the evening before heading back to the house, myself and the students of the other host mom went for ice cream at Baskin Robbins. I had Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough in a waffle cone. It was delicious.

Awesome pics, Brennan! That tree you were wondering about is a magnolia! I have several here, and some smell prettier than others!

Keep the faith!
