Well, we’ve got a show in about 45 minutes or so. I’m so tired today, my host family got me up early this morning, waving Danish flags and singing happy birthday. It was nice though, they handed me a small package, unwrapping it, I found that it was an Apocalyptica CD, thats crazy; I certainly never expected that. It just kept getting better, cause I fired up my MacBook and checked my mail, there was a really nice email from Miranda as well as a couple of e-cards that were definitely cute. Breakfast was already out on the table when I got there after taking a shower (I think I took a shower anyway, I can’t remember). I had lots of bread with herb cream cheese and then real cheese on that. It was good with the coffee and fruit juice. In the morning we finished up with the setup of the stage and I helped collect some photos for the slideshow in one of the segments of the show. Lunch was Chinese takeout served outside the facility. It looked like it was going to rain, so hopefully more people will come to the show. There weren’t any forks left so I just ate it all with my fingers. Thats probably another reason why I have a sore throat and a bit of a cough and congestion; because I’ve started biting my nails again. Ah well, there are far worse habits. Anyhow, we’ve had a few hours of rehearsal and now we’ve got two shows ahead of us today. Even though I’m slated to do interviews this evening, I know I’m going to be dead tired. I guess this goes down as my most intense birthday ever, and I think the only I’ve ever had outside of Canada. The real celebrations will be when I get back to NS anyhow I think. For Now, Its all good™.
The Second show was undoubtedly the most energy I’ve seen in any of our shows, it probably had to do with the fact that it was sold out and over a third of the audience were alumni. We performed with a full encore and everything. Between the shows I conducted an interview, and another one after the show. Tonight was the last strike of the tour. I had the silent honour of packing the last of the lighting trusses into the truck. Gaby, Peppe, and Jeremy climbed on top of the truck just before we closed it up for the last time and each gave a speech. Then they opened several bottles of champaign and soaked the cast with it. I was wearing my suit jacket so I ran away.
Lunch Time!
