Today was our last CI day in Chaing Mai. In the morning for the kids, we put on a mini show of some UWP songs that we sang and did the dances to. Seemed to quite like it; this was followed by them performing a number of songs and their accompanying actions that they had been learning. We then went outside and played some games such as “duck duck goose” (which in Thai is “new new meow” aka a cat chasing a mouse”) and “what time is it Mr. Wolf” and some songs such as head shoulders knees and toes and the hokey pokey. We ate lunch with the children, it was some kind of lasagna like noodles with a spinach like vegetable. In the afternoon, we had a goodbye ceremony where the kids tied strings around our wrists for good luck and presented us with a Thai crafted tote bag of sorts. It was really cool. We then went to the slum area where some of the kids came from and met some of the people and gave out some food stuffs to them. Then we went to the mainstream elementary school where some of the students go and we sang for them and they sang for us then we walked them back to the boarding house, many of them picked us flowers. Half way back it started to rain heavily. Back with my host family in the evening, we went swimming and to the sauna at a near by health club of sorts, just what we needed.
