The Continuing

I guess I certainly wasn’t at all myself today; or at least that is the overall impression that I’ve taken away from today from my interactions with other people. I know I stayed up far too late, but I really needed to get my journal written or else I’d forget and I didn’t want to break my streak. Tonight is the daylight savings time clock shift which means that I have to be there at “4:30 AM” for setup tomorrow morning which although absolutely ridiculous I shall take in stride anyway. Anyhows, I’m gettin way ahead of myself. Andrew woke me up around 11:45 this morning so we would be ready to go and see Renn play a basketball game It was really short and they didn’t end up winning but I’m sure they all had fun. My host dad is one of the coaches for the team. Following the game, Rochelle took Kelly and myself back down to the French Quarter to buy some souvenirs; stopping for a daiquiri along the way. I had a mix of Pina Colada and Starbucks Mudslide; it was cool and refreshing in the warm afternoon sun. (which of course was radiating down on us because we were riding in her sweet Volvo hardtop convertible) I bought a few t-shirts for about 5 bucks a piece after some shopping around. It was all Good™. After we got back we got ready for the Crawfish boil held at Simi and Kelly’s host family’s house. Between everyone that was there I think we consumed over 150 lbs of crawfish; there were of course lots and lots of other delicious things as well. We played a game of Volleyball where it was host families vs. UWP. No thanks to me using my head we ended up losing in 3 straight games but it was fun. Unfortunately there was work to be done so I spent the last hour there folding programs and hauling boxes of t-shirts as well as cleaning up. Tomorrow is going to be an insanely long day so I’m going to try and get some sleep as I’ve got to be up in like 4 hours now as it is.
